PhD Positions in Theoretical and Computational Quantum Condensed Matter Physics

Two fully funded three-year PhD positions are available in the research group of Research Prof. Alireza Qaiumzadeh at the Department of Physics, NTNU (Trondheim, Norway), starting in August 2026.
The successful candidate will work on analytical and theoretical aspects of quantum condensed matter physics. Relevant research topics may include (but are not limited to):
- Quantum magnetism and spintronics
- Antiferromagnetic and topological materials
- Nonequilibrium quantum transport
- Symmetry and topology in quantum materials
A strong background in theoretical physics and analytical methods is expected.

This position focuses on numerical and computational modeling of quantum materials. Relevant research areas include:
- Computational spintronics
- Micromagnetic and atomistic simulations
- First-principles or model-Hamiltonian approaches
- Numerical methods for quantum transport and dynamics
