Postdoc Position in Spintronics with Magnetic Insulators at the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona

One postdoc position will be available as of November 1st, 2021, at the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC) through the ERC Starting Grant project MAGNEPIC (https://magnepic.icmab.es/) led by Dr. Can Onur Avci.

The project will focus on:
- The development of ultrathin ferrimagnetic garnet films using magnetron sputtering.
- Exploring novel mechanisms to generate spin-charge interconversion and spin wave excitations in ferrimagnetic garnets.

The successful candidate is expected to have an expert handling of magnetron sputtering tool, experience with nanofabrication, electrical and optical characterization methods, and a solid background in spintronics and magnetism.
Interested applicants should send a motivation letter, CV, and names of two referees to Can Onur Avci (cavci@icmab.es)

The application deadline is July 31st, 2021 and they will be evaluated as received.
