Postdoctoral Position in Barcelona/Spain on thermopower generation using spintronic phenomena

One postdoctoral position will be available as of December 1st, 2022, at the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC) funded by the State Research Agency of Spain and the European Union in the framework of the “Strategic Projects Aimed at the Ecological Transition and the Digital Transition”.

The project will focus on thermopower generation using spintronic phenomena to convert waste heat to electricity in microelectronic circuits.

The successful candidate must have expertise in the fabrication (magnetron sputtering tool or a similar technique) and performance testing of thin film solid-state batteries. Experience in electrical and optical characterization of magnetic materials, device fabrication in cleanroom facilities, and knowledge of basic spintronic and (magneto)thermopower concepts will be valued.
