Postdoctoral Associate on Ferrimagnetic Spintronics at the University of South Florida
The University of South Florida (USF), Tampa, FL has an opening for a post-doctoral research associate in the Magnetic Materials and Spin Dynamics Lab led by Prof. Dario Arena.
The post-doctoral research associate will join a project focusing on ferrimagnetic spintronics, with an emphasis on high frequency (GHz to THz) spin dynamics. The ideal candidate will have expertise in several of the following skills and areas: thin film deposition, magnetometry measurements (VSM, MOKE), magnetotransport methods, in-house x-ray characterization (XRR, XRD), ferromagnetic resonance, analysis and modeling. Experience with nanofabrication, two dimensional van der Waals materials, x-ray spectroscopy and imaging, and / or neutron scattering is desirable. Good communication, writing and interpersonal skills are essential.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics or a closely related field, and within 0-5 years of post-PhD training.
Job Summary: Develop samples and device structures; Conduct research and perform experiments; Analyze and interpret data; Prepare summary of results; Write manuscript drafts; Assist and supervise the work of other lab members.
Starting Date: the position is open immediately, although the starting date can be flexible for the appropriate candidate.
