Postdoc / Deputy Group Leader and PhD Student positions at Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (Germany)

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Associate / Deputy Group Leader and for a PhD Student in the group “MaXRay: Magnetism and Coherent X-Ray Imaging” led by Dr. Felix Büttner at Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin in Germany.

The PhD Student will conduct a mixed theoretical and experimental work on chiral solitonic spin textures in antiferromagnetic films. Her/his work will be co-supervised by Prof. Stefan Blügel at Forschungszentrum Jülich near Cologne, Germany. The duration of the program will be 3.5 years. The Postdoctoral Associate / Deputy Group Leader will work on chiral and topological spin textures in ferro-, ferri-, and antiferromagnetic materials with a strong focus on their integration into devices. She/he will have access to some of the most advanced tools for nanolithography and materials growth. She/he will also take the role as a Deputy Group Leader, and thereby gain experience in academic leadership and supervision of students and team members.
