Postdoctoral Position at Boston College
Â
The research group of Prof. Benedetta Flebus invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate position in the Department of Physics at Boston College. The successful candidate will conduct theoretical research at the interface between spintronics and quantum many-body dynamics. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, 1) the emergence of cooperative quantum phenomena and entanglement in quantum hybrid spin systems; 2) the application of novel quantum sensing techniques, such as nitrogen-vacancy centers, to probe condensed matter systems; 3) developing new theoretical frameworks and numerical tools to bridge classical and quantum descriptions of dissipative magnetization dynamics.
A PhD in physics or a closely related field is required. Candidates with a strong background in the theory of open quantum systems and non-Hermitian phenomena are strongly encouraged to apply. The initial appointment will be for two years, with the possibility for a third year, depending on availability of funding. The start date of the appointment is ideally October-December 2023, but it can be anticipated.
Interested applicants are encouraged to contact Prof. Benedetta Flebus directly at flebus@bc.edu providing a CV with publications and a brief description of research interests, and indicating the preferred start date.
